 Inappropriate development

3 July 2009

Congratulations to the people of Shetland on the solidarity shown in standing against this inappropriate development.

I am not against wind farms, in fact I am a supporter, but they should be built as close as possible to the areas of consumption. The new developments in the bleak moorland areas to the south of Glasgow for example are appropriate.

The Shetland development was more akin to the Westminster proposals to build two nuclear power stations in Cumbria - wrong on distance to market as well as destroying a very attractive location.
