Is your breakfast a
memorable experience?
If you work in Shetland’s hospitality
industry you will know that breakfast is an
extremely important meal of the day….
…Breakfast is most likely to be the last
‘prepared’ meal that a visitor to Shetland
will experience before they leave the
islands….
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (Shetland
Area Office) and Shetland College are
hosting a Food Tourism Event which will
enable the Shetland hospitality industry to
meet local food producers who are keen to
increase their sales to the food service
sector.
Gordon Stark and Glynn Wright from Shetland
College’s hospitality department will be
preparing a selection of breakfast dishes
using a range of quality local ingredients -
as well as providing hints and tips on
making the “last meal” that the Shetland
visitor experiences a memorable one.
All sectors of the hospitality industry are
invited along to the event. Whether you run
a small B&B, a guest house or hotel it would
be great to see you at the event. If you
would like to attend please telephone
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (Shetland
Area Office) on 01595 69 3177 before
19th September and ask to speak to Jem
Arthur or email
jem.arthur@hient.co.uk
The event will be
held on Thursday 9th October between 2pm and
4pm in the Shetland College Refectory,
Gremista, Lerwick.
We would also really like to hear from
more local food producers who are keen to
increase their sales locally. If you are a
food producer and you would like to attend
the event please call us on 01595 693177.
Exhibition space can be arranged.
This event
is free of charge.
