I'd firstly like to applaud Dave Clark for his conduct over the entirety of his position, mainly in remaining silent and not being drawn into the tittle tattle of rumours and constant invasion of his private life.

Less can be said for most of the remaining councillors, who seemed to think it was necessary to broadcast even the most bizarre and insignificant accounts of his life. You should be ashamed that you felt the need to be so childish. Mainly, Jonathan Wills.

Jonathan Wills took a personal dislike to Dave Clark and surrounded his world with making Mr Clark’s time in Shetland a time of distress and continued animosity. Shame on you, Wills.

What I'd like to know? There's a lot of talk about the decisions made by Dave Clark as to the "deletion" of Willie Shannon's post? If Dave Clark, chief executive, felt he did not need a vice chief executive, is he not entitled to take this post away?

Uproar, chaos, something for Mr Wills to get his teeth into, when really, all that was needed was Mr Clark to be taken aside, and asked for what reasons he made this decision. Yes there are certain codes of conduct to be taken, but considering this happened in the first parts of his employment, could he not be reminded of these?

Also Andrew Laidler, someone whom Dave Clark knew to be a competent surveyor. Is it not right you employ the people familiar to you and whom you believe withhold a good reputation and are more than competent to carry out the job detailed?

On the Judane story, "councillors" agreed to write off the debt, not Dave Clark. It seems to me that the SIC are a tree that doesn't like to be rocked. And at the top of that tree was quite a heavy man, that made the tree rock. But shaking the tree from the bottom was Jonathan Wills, who'd have thought he'd have the strength to shake Dave out?

Rather than Mr Clark having to kick Dr Wills's teeth out, maybe this snow and ice will do us a favour, its slippy out there.

If there is any sense in any brains surrounding the SIC, remove the dead wood, replace with new.
