Vacant Position: “FEED CO-ORDINATOR”

The Role (responsibilities):

  • Feed ordering/logistic 
  • Site (feed) monitoring
  • Preparing and issuing reports
  • Feed and flesh quality assessment
  • Report to the Farm Manager

The duties would include:

  • Forward planning and placing orders with our suppliers

  • Collating weekly reports from Site Managers detailing feed stocks

  • Pre-planning feed requirements from Smolt Delivery Schedules
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports for the Lerwick Office and Site Managers
  • Liaising with Lerwick Office and Technical Staff to ensure stipulated Flesh Quality Assessments are implemented
  • Co-ordinating with Site Staff to ensure fish are made available for testing
  • Implement any changes in feed pigmentation
  • Following up on complains 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Computer literacy
  • Positive outlook with a “can do” mentality
  • Demonstrate experience in the field of aquaculture and/or logistics. (Although full training will be provided on appointment.)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to multi task

Salary and conditions will be attractive, reflecting the skill and experience of the successful applicant.

This is a full time post and will be based at Lerwick Fish Traders, although there will be an occasional need to travel.
