LERWICK business The Shetland Fudge Company has been shortlisted for the
'tourism Oscars', the Thistle Awards, for the second time.
A finalist in last year's 'Skills for Success: Small Company Award', the company
has now been named as one of the three finalists in the 'People Development'
category.
Shetland Fudge owner Gillian Ramsay said: "Everyone at Shetland Fudge is
absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted again, especially as this
particular award is really about the people who make the business a success.
"It was a fantastic boost for the staff when we were named as a finalist last
year, and this year we'll be taking the whole team to the awards dinner as a
reward for all their hard work. Hopefully this time round it will be a case of
second time lucky!"
Area director for VisitShetland Andy Steven added: "Congratulations to everyone
at the Shetland Fudge Company on this wonderful achievement, and the very best
of luck to Gillian Ramsay and her team for the announcement of the awards."
The overall winners will be announced at an awards dinner at Edinburgh's EICC on
Friday 27 October.
