I AM trying to trace any family that may still live in the Shetland
Islands. As far as I know an ancestor of mine, Thomas Thompson, was
born in 1793 in Ireland, Delting.
He enlisted in the 5th Battalion Royal Artillery. He died in 1874
and married Jane ?.
He had a son by the name of Thomas Thompson in the 1851 census.
