MORE than 50 young gymnasts attended training sessions that were
arranged to coincide with the visit of two members of the Great
Britain gymnastics team.
Marissa
King and Kayleigh Cooke were in Shetland over the weekend to help
inspire local youngsters.
They also performed several top skills on floor and on beam such as
backflips and somersaults, signed autographs, had photos taken and
showed local gymnasts some of their medals.
As a special treat they were invited on a trip in one of the new
coastguard rescue helicopters.
They said they would like to thank everyone at Shetland Gymnastics
for their hospitality, and Shetland Coastguard and the rescue
helicopter crew for an amazing experience.
Shetland Gymnastics chairman Mark Wylie added: "It has been a really
successful trip, both |
