A THIRTY nine year old man is in police custody in Lerwick yesterday
(Tuesday) after being found in possession of suspected heroin with a
street value of around £8,500.
Police arrested the man as he disembarked the overnight ferry from
Aberdeen this morning.
Meanwhile it emerged that following a tip off from the public,
police officers searched a house in Lerwick last Friday and seized
heroin with an approximate street value of £10,000.
Detective sergeant Lindsay Tulloch said that enquiries were still
ongoing and no arrests had been made as yet.
He added: "The public are thanked for their continued support and
help in the disruption of controlled drugs in Shetland and are asked
to pass on any information to the police."
